Data Berlin #33
New momentum, new opportunities, and a lot of reading stuff
Issue 33 is here, and yes, it is mid-April in Berlin and the weather is still grey.
On the bright side, databerlin.net is really taking shape: we now have more than 200 active jobs live on the site, and it is becoming a solid place to track data opportunities in the city.
Also, meetup update: we now have both a host and a date. Join us on April 23 at SumUp at our Spring Data Allergy meetup, and please share this newsletter with your colleagues.
We built a dedicated job board for real data and AI roles in Berlin. You can find the roles in this issue and more on the databerlin.net page.
If you’re hiring or know a company we should add, just reach out to us.
If you’ve been thinking about a change, or even just staying aware of the market, this is a good time to take a look around.

A useful reality check on DuckLake’s “900x faster” claim: the gains are real for micro-batch streaming because inlined writes avoid small-file overhead, but trade-offs shift toward catalog/database limits and workload fit. – DuckLake’s 900x Speed Claim: A Database in Your Catalog Is Worth Two in the Cloud
